Love
suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is
not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not
provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the
truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all
things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NKJV)
Love, a very simple word yet it has
been badly misused. Its simplicity becomes complicated because many times, this
word has taken the wrong way. It has even been dumped by some, because it is
mixed up with infatuation or lust of love. The world may be tricky and
troublesome making love obscuring. But God reminded us that the greatest love
is shown on the verses above. Love will never be perfect unless it is emanates
from the One who gives real love, whose Name is love itself.
As a creation and followers of
Christ, it is our commitment to yearn what God says love is and then dwell it
out. As we abide in God’s words and begin applying His teaching to our lives, it
will then be inevitable to see our lives change for the better. We become lenient
and more sensitive to His spirit; becoming more sensitive to His Spirit also
pave ways for a less harsh, less critical, less cynical version of ourselves.
A life that is connected to the
source of the greatest love ensue us to flourish the same love granted to us. A
love that is kind, does not envy, does not parade itself, is not puffed up,
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil,
does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in the truth; bears all things,
believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things. Imagining every
human being containing the same love, life in this world will definitely be
brighter and lovable than ever.
Let’s start within us and see how it
changes the world thru the greatest love of God thru us and for us.
Prayer:
Father, I acknowledge that you are the source and the author of love; a love that this world can never give or offer. And so I humbly ask for your direction in my life. Help me to bestow the same love you had given to me, not just to does who loves me but for everyone whom just like me, you love the most even when we feel we are unlovable. This I pray in Jesus' Name, Amen.
